FCHS Offers New Outpatient Program – Cardiac Rehab 

 
9-4/2019 (Friend, NE) – Friend Community Healthcare System (FCHS) is pleased to announce the opening of a Cardiopulmonary Rehabilitation program. This program combines cardiac, pulmonary and behavioral health components to optimize patients’ functioning following a major heart or lung condition.  A few examples of patient conditions benefiting from Cardiac Rehab include heart attack, bypass, emphysema or COPD. Services will be offered in current Physical Therapy space.   

"Serving Saline, Seward and surrounding counties, the addition of this program highlights the mission of FCHS; which is to offer high-quality, compassionate healthcare close to home. The Cardiopulmonary Rehab is similar to Physical Therapy.  It is even more important to offer services “close to home” when those services require multiple visits.  Like other community-based hospitals, FCHS has a long history of dedicated service to improving the health and quality of life for the people and communities we serve," said John Wilson, CEO of FCHS 

Soon we will share news of a second outpatient program.  Starting times for both programs to be determined once Diamond Healthcare get staffing and FCHS gets equipment needs in place.   

Referrals may be made by self, physicians, advanced practice practitioners, nurses, social workers or others.  Medicare and most commercial insurance are accepted. Patients can call the hospital’s main number (402) 947-2541 to schedule.
