Public Meeting Recap
Public Meeting Recap
Friday, April 6, 2018
Thank you to everyone who attended the public meeting regarding the proposed Hospital bond. For those who could not attend, we would like to recap some important topics discussed.
- This project is an infrastructure improvement to make our facility code compliant with the State Fire Marshal and CMS (Medicare/Medicaid).
- Although the improvements are not visible, they are vital to the facility in case of an outage and the use of emergency power. This includes rewiring behind the walls to a newly purchased generator.
- As noted on your existing property statements, the Hospital Tax will show NO INCREASE with the passing of this bond.
- The Hospital District will be making the bond payments from monies already being paid through taxes.
- If you vote No, this could result in the closure of the hospital due to lack of funds for this project and can create a negative economic impact on the community of Friend.
- Vote Yes! – Give us a fighting chance to keep healthcare in our community. Support our hometown facility.
