COVID-19 continues to affect the routine of our every-day life. Vaccination efforts are underway across Nebraska and here at FCHS. However, with the evolving nature of the virus, updates will continue to be made to information about the virus itself, how to best prevent the spread, and our access to vaccines. We are currently contacting patients who received the COVID-19 vaccine at FCHS, to schedule boosters for those that meet the CDC requirements. If we haven’t yet contacted you, and you meet the following CDC criteria and would like to schedule your booster, please call (402) 947-2541 to schedule.
Public Health Solutions, the health distict that encompasses Saline, Thayer, Jefferson, Fillmore, and Gage counties, has recently announced that anyone 18 years old and older is eligible to register for a vaccine appointment. If you are interested in registering for a vaccine apointment, you may do so through the state registration website: vaccinat.ne.gov. You will be contacted shortly after filling out the website’s form about your appointment.
We are still administering COVID-19 vaccines here at FCHS as well, though we are only allocated a set number of vaccines per week. If you are interested in receiving your COVID-19 vaccine at FCHS, you should us at 402-947-2541 to be placed on our list.

Hundreds of thousands of Nebraskans have tested positive for COVID-19 since the start of the pandemic. The hardest hit places have been around the Lincoln and Omaha areas, as well as Grand Island. The fluctuation in case numbers have caused the implementation of several Directed Health Measures, both on the state and county level. Here in Saline County, over 2,000 people have tested positive.
County by county data across the state is tracked by Nebraska DHHS and local health districts. You can look at the data for Saline and surrounding counties on the Public Health Solutions Health District website.
The national total in the United States for positive COVID-19 cases has topped 34 million since the pandemic began. The death toll has sadly reached over 600,000. COVID-19 has reached all 50 states, hitting some, such as New York, California, and Florida, harder than others.

Johns Hopkins University & Medicine has also been tracking case count since the pandemic began. You can view their data on an interactive map that breaks numbers down by state and even county.
Across the globe, over 195 million people have tested positive for COVID-19. 223 countries have reported confirmed cases since the pandemic began. Over 4.1 million people worldwide, have sadly lost their lives to the coronavirus.
