History
Warren Memorial Hospital received a $10,000 gift from Norman Warren in 1921. The hospital was officially founded in 1930. The original hospital building opened in 1933 with the first baby being delivered in June of the same year. This building became obsolete and was demolished in September of 2003. Zimmer Medical Clinic was built in its place and opened in July of 2004. The new building project also added a new Radiology Department, large emergency room, conference room, nine exam rooms in the clinic, two doctor’s offices and a basement where our Physical Therapy department resides.
The new clinic was named in honor of Dr. Clarence Zimmer and his family. Dr. Zimmer resided in Friend and practiced here for 40 years. Currently, Michael Karel, PA, Jaime Dodge, MD, Crystal Leis, PA, Janae Whitaker, NP, Caleb Schroeder, MD, Kimberly Burke, PA and Derek Nelson PA see patients in the hospital, emergency room and clinic. Dr. Jaime Dodge is our Medical Director.
