Job Title: Community Development & Marketing Coordinator

FLSA Status: Exempt

Reports To: Chief Executive Officer

JOB SUMMARY:

Works independently and jointly with social services coordinator, director of engagement and human resources, and/or CEO to develop, write and/or edit hospital publications. Work with department managers and health care leaders to meet their business objectives. Coordinates the production of marketing materials (e.g., brochures, videos, etc.), and secures appropriate approvals and documents progress and results. Serves as the back up media contact person to the director of engagement and human resources, as requested in accordance with the philosophy, goals and objectives of Friend Community Healthcare System (FCHS).

QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor’s Degree in journalism, marketing, public affairs or business administration or a related field OR equivalent combination of education/experience combined;
Minimum two years of experience in media relations, public relations, or related field;
Minimum two years of experience in fundraising and coordinating fundraising events to secure financial and in-kind donations;
Healthcare background preferred; and
Computer, public relations and marketing, layout/design, media and program administration experience preferred

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Provides project management and coordination for internal and external

communications programs for FCHS to ensure specific goals and outcomes are met.

Serves as liaison with all leadership and departments within FCHS to establish marketing strategies, solicit input for content development and initiate supporting projects.
Serves as a liaison with all community members as it pertains to marketing of services and programs; and coordination of all fundraising events.
Ensures tactical projects are initiated and completed within deadline and budget to include but is not limited to: advertising space purchases of print, radio, television,; production of any print, radio, television, vendor selection and production, content updates for internal and external website; proactive or responds (news) media pitches (print, radio, television).

2. Increases positive public awareness and develops an accurate image of FCHS.

Coordinates media relations, advertising, special events and publications.__
Coordinates and implements physician marketing and networking programs, seminars, conferences dinner meetings and other events.
Coordinates the review of market data and geographic focus to help create most effective strategies.
Coordinates all charitable sponsorships and the community outreach activities to meet objectives and goals of the hospital.
Functions as primary liaison with community groups to sponsor events.
Provides coordination for speaker’s bureau for hospital leadership, physicians and employees.

3. Assists in the various committees with hospital marketing and public relation efforts to include internal communications.

Organizes promotions and internal marketing.
Strengthens the coordination and cooperation of all organizational comments of the hospital.
Provides vision and direction, planning, implementation and follow-up on projects

4. Assists in the coordinator of social media activity for FCHS.

Provides regular content to social media sites; and
Monitors social media activity about the hospital and responds appropriately.

5. Assists in the strategic planning process, so that a strategic marketing plan can be implemented and followed.

Assists CEO and FCHS team members in strategic planning, including community participation as needed.

6. Shall increase in-patient services, clinic visits and donations.
